My uncle has one. Hes a big wig in the energy sector, so go figure. He loves it, but I personally wouldn't want/buy one. For an electric car, it is at the top and has cool features. Iirc, he set the turn signal noise to fart when he took my son for a ride. Was funny, but gimmicky.

How often is charging the electric system required? What is the average cost to recharge?

How often is charging the electric system required?
quote:average, not sure. When I was driving maybe 800 miles a month or so, it was maybe $20/month.
What is the average cost to recharge?
I drive more now, new job farther away, but also have access to free charging at work now so basically free for me at this time.
Super charging, I haven't done much but when low to get back to full averages around $5 I think.

Yes, easily. Go test drive one, that's all it really takes. I'm sure there's a poster or 2 to dispute the claim but legit every person I've ever talked to in person or even seen post something on a message board/Reddit/wherever has given it rave reviews after driving. They may not have all gone out and bought one, but I don't recall ever seeing someone say they drove one or rode in one and it was just ok, or you could get some other car in the same class that is clearly better.
I bought one without ever driving one but did ride in one. I wasn't a Tesla "fanboy" or whatever, it just seemed like a cool car so I bought one. About 30 seconds of driving was all it took to understand all the rage.
I just drove my buddy's model 3 the other day and am now considering getting the ludicrous model S. His is supposed to do 0-60 in 3.2. We raced and I only beat him by a little bit which was surprising, but we stopped before we hit 100 mph, and I'm probably a lot faster then him after 100. I had no idea, until this thread, that his car costed under $50k. That's a bargain for that performance.

ludicrous model S.
He now just has the model X pd100 I think.
Will still snap you back in the seat. Incredible car.

My company has chargers in the parking garage, free to empoyees. The Senior EE assigned to work with me purchased on 7 months ago. He lives 15 miles away. In 7 months he's never spent a dime on juice. Didn't even get the charger for his home.

If they redesign the body style a bit and it’s still under 50 grand I will 100% buy the cyber truck. And I’m an O&G baw

A buddy has an X.
It’s super fun to drive. India line the lack of range (I drive a frick ton).
The truest, biggest negative with his X is the anemic air conditioning in the Texas summer. If at a stop his cabin gets frocking hot.
The X windshield is ridiculously large.

What about insurance? I hear it is very high on Teslas.

Have a 3. Insurance is $50 more/month. But I save ~$250/month on gas. Car is great, can't complain

so you don't pay for gas, but won't it increase your power bill?
you still are paying one way or another, right?
forgive my ignorance.
i believe there are charge stations as well? how do those work? do you have to pay to use those?

this sort of answers my question.

I’m sure they are fine cars , I just think they look like Hyundai’s that cost twice as much.
