Anyone ever had to hire an auto appraiser to counter insurance appraisal?

They low-balled me. I found comps. I finally got tired of the insurance company refusing to use my data and hired an appraiser and will go through arbitration. Did I just waste $300.00 or are these services usually effective?

Just tell them your neck is starting to hurt. Go to a chiropractor twice a week and run up a big bill. frick insurance companies. Pay all that premium and they try to frick you every time.

Include diminished value in your claim.
It's insurance jargon that adjusters never offer. They have to pay you.
There's a calculation called like 17c or something. Google it.
Basically, since your car was in an accident, the blue book value dropped. Depending on the severity of the accident, you could reap an extra couple thousand which would pay for your stupidity and hiring an independent adjuster.

Good advice. Get everything in writing. Also, tell them they are acting in bad faith.

What state? Do you know what they used to establish the value?

quote:Texas. They had three comps. Same model, same trim, but not same package add-ons. I pointed out to them they were not making a fair comparison. I even provided them with comps that were exactly the same as my car, and gave them the links to the cars. They didn't care.

I think Louisiana still requires NADA, but I don't know what Texas uses.

What it cost New doesn’t matter. Cars are paid actual cash value unless you have new car replacement on your insurance.

Insurance will always screw you.
The trick is to read your policy carefully and screw then right back. You are now suffering from terrible headaches and your neck hurts. A better offer will follow.
