If so, how much did it work? Thinking about getting this but don’t want to waste time or money.

Is this like a tin foil hat for an attic?

I just built a house and the roof decking has the silver radiant barrier already on it. Seems like quality stuff. My attic stays comfortable during peak summer hours.

The data suggests it works well all you need is a staple gun and a knife

Spray foam definitely keeps an attic cool. I don’t know the specifics of foam, but I’m fairly sure you need a different HVAC system Witt certain foams? I could be wrong.

Ive had the radiant barrier and the spray foam.

The foam works better insulation-wise but ir hides leaks and bug or critter infestations.

I feel the foil barrier advantages vs disadvantages make it a better choice.

The house I recently bought has it and it works, the attic doesn’t feel like a complete inferno during the summer. I also didn’t have an electricity bill over $100 during the summer months.

i saw them installed and they work great

i did a/c installations and attics were as cool as the ground floor areas

im old fashioned though and would still use regular insulation in my own house and just put the radiant barrier on the roof rafters to keep heat out of the attic.

i will say that they all arent the same, some are definitely better working then others

the ones i saw were bubble wrap sandwiched between two layers of strong tear resistant reflective foil

We have it in our house and it destroys cell phone signal as well. If you have great signal at your house, you may be ok. If you have moderate signal, then it will probably be gone. You can get a micro cell or something in your house to boost it.

I installed radiant barrier in a rental house and was able to spend 2-3 hours in the attic in July in Dallas re-wiring the old knob & tube system. Before I installed the radiant barrier, I could only spend 20 minutes up there.

I put one in mine and it's about 30 degrees cooler in the summer up there.
I bought 2 roles from Amazon. Spent about 300.
