There's one opening by me this summer. This is the first I've heard of such a thing.

Believe it or not, axe-throwing bars, where patrons throw axes at targets on the wall, are a growing trend across the country, despite everything that could possibly go wrong.

There are axe-throwing bars in or near Baltimore, Philadelphia, Detroit, Austin, Charlotte, Denver, and of course, Brooklyn, among other places.

The first axe-throwing bar in North America is believed to have started in Toronto in 2011. Toronto bartender and actor Matt Wilson opened an indoor arena with axe-throwing and drinks.

I'd rather go to a shooting range bar.

Nothing like mixing alcohol with the throwing of large bladed weapons.

We have a couple here in Huntsville. I haven't been yet, but people claim they are a blast.

I’ve been to bars in Lafayette where a bunch of frat bros popped collars, front tucked, wore sperries, and sprayed Axe.

No but that player would be a distraction of an attention whore trying to stir up controversy in the lime light.

You've been to Bella Noche?

Sort of reminds me of bikers and Twin Peaks.

I don't think throwing sharp objects while under the influence is smart.

Anyhow, it was fun watching a episode of Burgers, Brew and Q had Michael Symon go to a place where they threw axes at Urban Axes in Philly:

the one i went to wasnt a bar, but it was an axe throwing place, and they let you bring drinks.

i thought it was average at best. it was a fun little event and i did enjoy it, but it's not worth going more than once IMO. i could MAYBE see a situation where you'd go again if it was with different groups (work, family, friends), but i certainly wont be suggesting the event to any group or anything.

I saw one in Louisville Kentucky of all places and it was packed. Looked like a lot of fun.
