My wife is from Alabama, so I'd have to be pretty bad for her to complain.

She still wants a piece even if I'm in 3 day old sweatpants and a high school t-shirt, so it might be something deeper than the outfit in your case.

Good to see your wife focuses on what’s really important

She never complains about my outfit but I’m usually not wearing much when I see her.

My husband does the same. He wears more jackets now because apparently the women he was with before me did not wear as many dresses as I do

Yeah, nothing quite like putting on a pair of chinos and an earth tone jacket to then see my wife walk out with a little black dress putting on pearls. Just better to get the lay of the land and then go from there

Tell her if you were really into fashion you’d probably be a queer so she can pick her poison

False binary. There's a huge gulf between not knowing how to dress and waking up before dawn to watch fashion week live. Throughout nearly the entirety of modern human history, men have taken pride in how they dressed. It's literally only the last fifty years or so that men have started treating it as a perverse point of pride if they dress like mentally handicapped children.

That's not a good look when it is packaged with southern diction. never mix stripes with stripes.

That not an insult. calm down. breathe . . .

. . .

Everyone can do business casual.

On those special occasions, let her be proud of her guy. That's BDE. Making her proud has benefits. Nothing flashy ever, just simple and fresh.

Happy wife, Happy life. Why rile them up. It's too damn hot for that. Do it with a smile and reap the rewards.

TLDR: As a gentleman raised by a Sweetwater, Texas mom and West Texas dad, my advice is to keep it simple. Look sharp.

You got this. Go . . . and be fertile.

There are a few articles of clothing I hide from my husband bc I hate them - but other than those, he dresses well

Smart wife advice up there. Well done.

Ladies, Never throw the clothes away. There is usefulness left in them. And don't throw away junk - some of it isn't.

90% of dressing well is wearing clothes that are well tailored and actually fit you. The other 10% is avoiding anything that obviously looks stupid

Nothing wrong at all w/ Birddog khakis - modern cut, comfortable - similar to lululemon ABC pants. Pair well with a long sleeve button down and a jacket if you want to make it look a little nicer, or like Obtuse said, just wear a long sleve BD and cuff the sleeves if you want to go no jacket.

My wife doesn’t like my style and I now let her help me IMPROVE IT!! Now when we go out, I ask her to pick me out a nice outfit. Sometimes we can use help. I look better when she picks out my clothes. She has better taste than I do. After all, she married me. Lol

Man, that’s not a town many people know about. We have a place in Wingate. My wife’s uncle ran the sweetwater airport.

The problem for some, especially in the South, is the difference between looking stupid and being a sartorial iconoclast is measured in angstroms.

My grandpa (was), my brother, and one of my sons are colorblind. They need a little more help sometimes.
