Maybe this is just something I heard 20 years ago and just accepted it as fact, but I think that edit is at the request of Charlie Daniels. I think he got religion after beating the Devil.

He did the same to Long Haired Country Boy; I will take another toke to I will tell another joke.

Fun fact: he played on Dylan's Nashville Skyline album.

The devil cheated. He needed a band and really didn't fiddle. Johnny won.

ZERO SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Johnny for the win!

I am not a contract lawyer, but I am pretty sure when you sign a deal with the devil, he will get credit for 10 SEC Championships won under Nick Saban.

And that folks, is how you piss off LSU and Bama fans at the same time.

I'm sure the devil could easily attain another golden fiddle. Johnny, on the other hand, would lose his soul to the devil forever. He had to be on meth and needed quick money to take that deal.

Devil should have been DQ'd the second the band of demons joined in. It was a one-on-one competition.

Wasn’t there a rap song in the 90s ‘The Devil went up to Michigan’ where they had a scratching record contest where the Butcher took down the devil on his turn table of gold after betting his soul?

I was a young teenager and got to see Charlie play this song live at the State Fair in Shreveport. By the end of the song there was barely a string left on his bow.

I remember he also got pissed about the game Guitar Hero using the song for the final boss because you could lose to the devil and he didn't like that.
