Only breed I’ve ever been bitten by in my life. On the forehead even! I was being a little shite and fricking with it.

Mine is 11, he's fishing fool and hates squirrels or any critter for the most part. Reminds me of Hitler.

My buddy has a lab-Dachshund mix. Not sure how that happened. Goofiest looking dog I’ve ever seen. Fatass Lab body with a tiny little Dachshund head.

The little fricker barks his arse off and won’t shut up until you feed him. He is friendly around humans but hates other dogs and is racist. Also pisses and shits places out of spite.

I kinda do, we have a shweeneie, shitzu and dachshund. Damn cool dog, chill as much as you want, or play fetch from dawn to dusk. He looks like a long haired dachshund.

Pop’s third wife had one of those. Short stubby legs under a lab’s body with a daschund head. Weird

I have a long haired blonde female. She wants to wrestle constantly and is very protective of my girlfriend. Wouldn’t trade her for anything.

My wife has one. It is out 2nd. It's a short haired red one. It is a female and the bitch will stand up to a Great Dane. She antagonizes the shite out of my Lab and any poor bastard that knocks on the front door.

We have one. Sweetest dog I’ve ever owned...........to humans. Absolutely hates any other critter that has four legs and fur.

Ours caught and crunched two squirrels who ventured a little too far from a tree. Those bones were snapping loud when he got his jaws on the one I witnessed.

He also disemboweld a rat that made a run for it when I was moving a woodpile. Strung his guts out like Christmas lights before I could turn around to see what was happening.

They are known for have a loud bark for their size, so they are good deterrent/watch dogs to have in the house. Somebody comes knocking at the door, and it sounds like a huge beast is inside.

I've had two. First one was named Grits and died from old age. Second one was Gretchen and was run over last June. I'll probably buy another one this spring.

Never trusted the ones I've been around. And so many people who own them turn them morbidly obese like a tick. It's pretty much turned me off the breed.

The first dachshund my parents had was bit on the neck by a rattlesnake and lived. He also ran across the street and grabbed a horse by the tail. The horse drug him across the field before the dog let go. Mean fricker. I still have a scar on my nose from that punk.

My neighbor, a doctor, has a large dachshund that roams loose (the doc has a large antebellum house on 8 acres).

My Aussie loves to roll the dachshund - she runs over him at full speed and he rolls over and over. He no longer comes around.

He is the biggest dachshund I've ever seen.

Over my life I’ve owned seven. The two I have now are the greatest friends to my children! One survived a coyote attack.

Had many of them growing up. All of them were pretty much the same way...I remember my dad always having to take a moment and introduce them to somebody new...after that they were always good.
I found a mini on the side of a gravel road in Oklahoma that I rescued and he was the sweetest dog to everyone. He now lives with my brother's wife's parents up in Wisconsin.
My wife also has a mini that is extremely sweet to everyone.
Typically, I find the smaller dogs to be more aggressive, but apparently it is not the case with the dachshunds.
