Only to use the microphone to talk the whole time. I can deal with music on the parade route, I prefer to listen to the marching bands, but music blasting isn't going to hurt anyone. But there is nothing worse than some d bag that thinks everyone wants to hear him telling the high school dance team to shake it while they March by.

If you set up speakers to play music, then play music not talk the whole time

Was coming in here to disagree with this, then I read this:

And I agree.

I love when music is blasting some funky jazz or mardi gras tunes.

Speakers should be banned from parades and tailgating.

The world does not want to hear your bad taste in music. Keep that shite in your car with the windows rolled up like God intended

I usually only see speakers being used when there are no bands in front and seldom using a mic unless they are trying to get the crowd to dance or whatnot b/c there is a break in a parade.

I don't like this guy, but it's never been enough to really bother me. I can't recall ever being right next to that guy though, so my take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Our spot had a guy right by us that did it, that's why I hated it so much, I think parents started complaining and he knocked it off last year

We were right across the street from one of these set ups last year. They played some good music but every few hours some drunk a-hole would get on the mic and it would get real old real quick.

Since we are venting... Let me ask this.

Speakers and music at a tailgate are obviously a must BUT -

WHY in the hell is it necessary for every damn fraternity on the parade grounds to play their setup so loud that people can't even stand in the tent? Seriously guys, it's a tailgate and not a ghetto nightclub. Turn the shite arse rap down and actually speak to your dates some. One was so bad last year that I couldn't hear the music or TV's in my own tent twenty yards away from where they were set up. I can't imagine what it was like next to their speakers. That's just stupid at that point.

Young kids like loud music in a party setting. That's been true since forever. Just set up away from the frats or realize we were all young and did stupid shite at some point.
