Dogs are like people regardless of the breed.
Its all on the owner. I know a poodle that will flush birds and fetch them as good as any spaniel ive seen. Dogs are like their owners.
The phrase they look like their owner also holds true.

Millennials were first conjured up to be those graduating high school in the year 2000. But that group and the people we call Millennials are entirely different.

If you were born prior to 1990, when this all gets sorted out you'll be Gen Y (or earlier), not a Millennial.

just about every middle aged woman i know has one of the tiny purse dogs. i don't think that's a millenial thing. millenials don't seem to have pets since they are more likely to rent/live at home/have multiple roommates and live in larger cities.

I'll see your WWII dog, and raise you Sergeant Stubby...

quote:

Sergeant Stubby (July 21, 1916 – March 16, 1926), has been called the most decorated war dog of World War I and the only dog to be nominated for rank and then promoted to sergeant through combat,[2] a claim having no official documentary evidence, but recognized in connection with an exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution.[2][3][4] He was the official mascot of the 102nd Infantry Regiment (United States), assigned to the 26th (Yankee) Division. Stubby served for 18 months and participated in seventeen battles on the Western Front. He saved his regiment from surprise mustard gas attacks, found and comforted the wounded, and once caught a German soldier by the seat of his pants, holding him there until American soldiers found him. Back home, his exploits were front page news in major newspapers.

Greatest American combat dog of all time... And he's a Pitbull.

Stayed home this New Years. Was chillin in bed watching some telly. I kept hearing a rubbing noise toward my sliding glass door. I thought for a while it was just a unique firework sound. Heard it again and got up to check on it. I pull my curtain back and turn on the light. Holy shite.

It was an unclipped full grown Pit Bull cowering right up next to the glass. Scared shitless. It would barely move it's head to look at me. Like a flash bang went off or something.

I live in a resort village community outside of a city in the Texas Hill Country. Fireworks are going off so much that it creates this sound that echoes back and forth off of the surrounding hills.

I let the dog be and it was gone in the morning. I should've took a picture. So random. I've never seen it in my neighborhood.

Lol. It's very possible. Though I'm surprised it wasn't clipped, which shelters and rescue organizations require. I know multiple well to do, intelligent people that have adopted pitbulls. In many cities, it's the only breed you see at shelters. It's why I have one. frick dog breeders, especially the scumbags at flea markets.

Though I can't think of a single person that got a pit from a breeder that wasn't a piece of shite.

I was surprised as well. It was as I explained. I felt sorry for it. But, I didn't want to call anybody to come get it. Knowing that it would likely return home. I live in a small sub division next to a tubing and river resort. I know most of the dogs on the street but, it could be a new addition. People move in and out of for lease properties near by. There is a lot of short term rentals scattered around here for vacations etc. Could have come from one of them. Oddly enough it stays somewhat busy despite the winter weather.
