Anyone else find the phrase “with child” kinda weird?

Only hear it sporadically but every time it’s like just say pregnant bro

My mom has told me that growing up in the 60's, saying someone was "pregnant" was considered pretty trashy. With child was always the polite nomenclature.

Side note: The insane half of this country doesn't even agree that the pregnant woman has a child inside.

"With child" is not as weird as "in the family way." The old days were strange.

This is true. Pretty sure my grandparents would still rather eat a bullet than say pregnant

Dearest friend, I prefer the phrase "with child". I find the term "pregnancy" to be lowbrow.
