Stereotyping is cool though.

It’s kinda weird how on point this record is. Some of those tracks are straight current commentary

this thread was started on the assumption that killer mike was some sort of thug and not an effective spokesperson for blm. thats a stereotype.

op et al got called white for not knowing better, thats mild teasing.

I know. My post wasn't aimed at the post I responded to, it was aimed at the OP.

Lol. I’m 45 and love run the jewels. Killer Mike and El P are great.

Mike isn’t advocating for literally killing. That is about correcting things that hold you back or push you down.

He is pretty smart too. His series went into deep topics. A big question of his is what happened to all the black owned business post civil rights. The communities stopped supporting themselves. It is a very unique and intelligent perspective. You may not agree with everything but he brings up some good discussion material.

[Verse 3: Killer Mike]
People why shite is so wrong
Why they won’t let all our soldiers come home
Why them boys who get caught with such small amounts of dope/on the Ave do bids so long
They bids so long by the time they get to come home
Mamas is gone and babies is grown
And baby mama that was tight in that thong
Fat as a frick and her body all gone
Pay for it cash her arse is gone
She never worked so the stash is gone
Government rations she gets on
Year after year she get check after check
A gangster come home already in debt
The government say you owe $50k
For all the free lunches that yo baby ate
Do you go legit, and never have shite?
Or G’ up and re-up and get you a brick? (yeah)
Get you a brick (yeah)

[Chorus]
Slumerican Shitizen
Slumerican Shitizen
Slumerican Shitizen
Slumerican Shitizen

[Outro: Killer Mike]
See what you suckas don’t understand is
This ain’t even about race
This is about who got it and who ain’t got it
So if I’m on the bottom
And you on the bottom
We’re the same color...
Dirt frickin’ Poor!

Was listening to 4 in the car. I think I let a red light cycle when Walking in the Snow Came on.

It’s a gift when artists can make the audience feel what they feel inside.

Haven’t really had a song make me pause like that since I heard “Elephant” from Jason Isbell’s Southeastern album.

If you appreciate all types of music and feeling what the artist is trying to express...it is an excellent listen.

You don’t have to agree to listen. That is the point. .

I dare a white person to wear a shirt that says "Kill your slaves" and see if they get the same kind of treatment. Regardless of what your political stance is, simpletons and morons will take one look at that screen and put no though into who or what it means...They will just see Kill your Masters with no context. It's not appropriate to wear when trying to quell a riot.

The saying on his shirt doesn't mean to literally "kill your masters". If you actually listen to what he says, the message means to make changes with the system & in the black community.

Don't enlighten them because this won't fit the narrative.
