Lyrics
Lift ev'ry voice and sing
'Til earth and heaven ring
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty
Let our rejoicing rise
High as the list'ning skies
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun
Let us march on 'til victory is won
Whitey Gonna Get It

The Cajun’s need an National Anthem. It needs to be in French. When the rest of America says they can’t understand, we can call them racists.

I know about it. But I also grew up & still surround myself with black folks and make it a point to learn their culture and traditions.

Let's me just go ahead and say that I won't be standing for that.

The NFL has just about lost most of us anyway. Why in the hell does sports have to be political to begin with ?

Obviously you've never been to a SWAC game at an HBCU. Didn't know it was supposed to be the black national anthem but they do play the song at every game.

The lyrics aren't nationalistic though but then neither is the Star Spangled Banner.

My Country Tis of Thee and America the Beautiful seem more like real national anthems. SSB kind of sux and Lift Every Voice is too church.

And this is where the problems will start. People who refuse to stand (or kneel) at the appropriate times will be shamed, shouted down, boo’ed and cursed by others in the stadium. It’s all part of the plan.

No such thing as black national anthem. Just another myth.

I would vote for 'Ole Man River'.

It's a good song. More of a hymn really. I like it.
