Well, with all due respect, I'm not too concerned with what an option is for you as I'm not looking at getting a full-size truck.

Did you not read the first paragraph?

Your lack of detail in your suggestion of a small to mid-size truck and the fact that you referred back to a full-sized truck leads me to believe that you aren't a reliable source of suggestion for what I am looking for. Thank you for the feedback though.

Again, did you need read the first part? I gave you a suggestion

I'm also talking about trucks from this century. Back in 1998, interiors didn't have as many painted pieces.

I read it and it lacked detail that the normal truck/car buyer doesn't already know. And you referred back to a full-size truck in your second paragraph. My assumption is that you have never owned a small to mid-size truck. I may be wrong though.

What more detail do you want? I have not owned all of the 2016 trucks, just like everyone else. My opinion is just as valid as anyone else's if that's your criteria.

hence my reference to 2010 gmc. again, no interior problems. since you think i'm exaggerating, i'll elaborate: the only potential issue has been the paint starting to fade off of one of my a/c buttons recently. however, i had a toyota (from this century) that had the same problems on every button when it was the same age. when you use stuff, it starts to wear. but nothing in this truck has shown to be low quality.

Well now you are making things up on my behalf. I just stated what my assumption is and it had nothing to do what year the vehicle is. Have you owned any truck that wasn't full-size

I'm not making things up, you tried to discount my opinion because I also stated that I would not currently purchase a mid size, as if that somehow lessens my potential knowledge. You said I didn't go into enough detail. The only way to go any further is to own them.

Yes. But it's not something I'd be interested in now.

I would buy the canyon. Looks better, less of them on the road, higher resale, and looks just like a Sierra

My son still drives my old 2003 Silverado with about 250K (had 242K when I passed it on). The dash didn't crack and the interior is almost perfect after 12.5 years.

We get it; you hate GM

It was a much older Tacoma than the vehicles you're looking at I loved it, but it would never work for me. I've driven newer mid sizes and they're just too cramped for me personally. I also don't think the 5.5 ft beds on full size crew cabs is big enough, so mid size trucks really lack the functionality I desire when I own a truck.

I've owned several GMs actually. I like many of their vehicles. Just from what I've seen on various forums over the years, they do not hold up as well as others to me.

You surely get by now that you have slightly different tastes and hobbies than most people in the south right?

Most people need a 4x4 to go "off road" as in a muddy but flat trail that doesn't consist of rocks or steep climbs or desert trail running that I'm sure your Tacoma excels in.

This man most likely just needs it to go low and slow and not get stuck.

I agree. When I was shopping for the Colorado, I was shocked to see a 5' bed on most crew cabs. I got the 6' and am glad I did.

Got a 5 foot bed with a ARE cap. It's plenty of space for my camping gear. I think the 6 foot beds look weird. Long and narrow. But that's just my preference.

Every place I go with the truck I look for trails...and I'm amazed with places that have them. Hell on our 30A trip this year I got to ride trails a couple of days..We stayed in Seagrove and I got all kids of lost (trespassed like a MFer) all behind it. 15, 3 and 1 definitely don't stop where they show.

I was looking at 2014 GMC Canyon for my father to get him out of his fullsize truck.

The dealer had a 2014 old body style and a 2015 new body style. I drove both and bought 2015 4x2, 4-door, v-6 due to it drove well for smaller truck.
Price wise they are higher than a fullsize similar package due to not much rebates on them. Price was slightly more than the Nissan Frontier and the Toyota Tacoma.

It has been 6 months and my father has around 5,000 miles in his. He has had a few typical GM electrical quirks which the dealer fixed. As far as interior it is holding up so far knock on wood. For him it is a lot easier to drive, more than enough power, and still smooth after 6 months.
