Got mine at Lone Star Chevy in Houston. My price was around 35k too. Wasn't much mark down since it was a brand new model. Literally, their only z71 at the time. I have towed a few trailers here and there. You can tell you're pulling weight, but the Colorado had no issues.

Once again, thanks. Definitely putting it at the top of my list. I don't plan on pulling anything too much but it's good to know it holds up well.

I haven't, because my nuts dropped years ago and I have hair on my body. I drive a real truck like a real man, not a little pissant Chevy Colorado.

Know how I know you have a tiny penis?

You couldn't even find an off-road trail that your full-sized could hang with my Tacoma. Yours is an office, mine's a capable off-road vehicle. That said, it's a more road worthy vehicle than a true off-road like a Wrangler.

I look forward to revisting this in 3 years. GM's interiors do not hold up well compared to just about every other manufacturer IMO.

I understand what you're saying, but the Tacoma and Frontier interiors were not great from the get go. Colorado interior was much nicer.

When the cheap finishes start peeling off all that nice stuff within a year, you'll start to understand.

More than a comfy ride and a slick interior...for me at least.

Well since you seem to have alternative opinions, and since I am looking to for small to mid-size trucks, what are you suggesting?

The OP wants a Z71 Colorado...if that's not an off-road capable trail vehicle then he definitely should not buy it.

Two completely different things.

If I were buying one, it'd be the Tacoma. They're built better and hold their value better. I also prefer their styling to the GM offerings. Not a fan of Nissan really, although they are pretty bulletproof from what I've seen over the years, they're just ugly IMO. The GMs are too new for me to consider, and I'm not a fan of what I've seen from GM vehicles after the get a few miles on them.

But I don't have to worry about maneuvering in a small parking garage as someone used as a reason for buying the smaller truck. I prefer the larger cab space and increased capabilities of fullsize trucks. If the smaller trucks were under $30k well equipped, it may be worth the compromise. But they aren't, so they're not an option to me.

i had a 1998 chevy 1500 that i drove until 2010 with no interior issues. truck had 250,000 miles when i got rid of it. currently in a 2010 gmc that also has no interior issues. maybe you just don't take care of your vehicles?

Yea, I'm sure you were the only person on the planet whose dash didn't crack or rattle like crazy. You don't have to exaggerate to make a point.

OK, I may not be great with semantics...Driving to Arkansas or Nevada, or California to take your vehicle off of the roads...To do so you should buy trail guides...most trail guides rate trails 1-10, but in the descriptive guidebooks they often stay at 5 or under (since you need other people and expertise to venture further).

ETA: We were on the East side of the Sierras, so I highlighted those trails, but my truck is more than capable to handle anything in those two books...which is a lifetime of trips out there for me. Trails...off-road...IDK.

I have the 2015 Colorado Crew Cab LT. I got the long-bed, towing package in the LT version with a couple other options for about $29K.

It rides way better than my 2003 Silverado ever did and maneuvers better into parking spots. It says it tows 7K#; but I've only towed my 2K# boat with it so far. Of course it felt like nothing was back there. I'm glad I got the long bed because the beech trip and the the triathlon trip with 4 passengers and the work days at deer camp really maxed out the bed space. 80-90% of the time I'm commuting with an empty bed and I get about 23-24. On the hwy it gets 26-27.

Overall it's a great truck for me now. If my kids were not grown, I would have bought the larger truck.

Also, It took a while to figure out that fancy radio (Infotainment Systems) but I really like it now.

ETA: It's been off-road down some logging trails during the dry season and did fine. It has a low airdam and isn't made for crossing ditches or muddin. If you want to use your truck to do things that you should be doing on a 4 wheeler, get a Tacoma or a Jeep.

mines cracked to hell

Well, with all due respect, I'm not too concerned with what an option is for you as I'm not looking at getting a full-size truck. Your lack of detail in your suggestion of a small to mid-size truck and the fact that you referred back to a full-sized truck leads me to believe that you aren't a reliable source of suggestion for what I am looking for. Thank you for the feedback though.

what am i exaggerating? i didn't have any cracks whatsoever. the old truck rattled some when i hit a pothole, but i haven't been in a 10 year old truck that didn't. i'm not saying the truck was perfect (the interior was ugly but so were all 90s truck interiors) but i legit had no interior problems. i think its worth pointing out to OP that your experience is not necessarily the norm
