I used to dip Skoal Bandits in junior high.

The thing about snus (only the actual made in Sweden kind) is that it is food grade and they have much lower levels of cancer caused from other oral tobacco products

I have friend that claims its much safer than traditional dip. My amateur research can't confirm or deny. It seems the studies I saw were done by the Swedes was funded by the company that owns the Marlboro of Snus.

It's probably this, and the fact that it isn't fermented like American dip tobacco.

The only stuff I can find around here is General Brand. I like the original in the gold can (the white portion is plain, too but has a slower, less flavorful release). 1 portion lasts me about three hours. 4 for the white portion. Using that super strong stuff only gets your tolerance up. I believe General has about 8mg per portion. You can mail order other varieties. Goteborgs Rape has some extra herbs in it and is good. The best thing about it is no spitting.

I was once playing in my grandmother's backyard. I ran across the yard, jumped up, and grabbed the cross part on the clothesline pole. Immediately, a Mahogany Wasp darted out and popped my arm. I screamed like the 7 or 8 year old I was and my grandmother, who was across the yard messing with some flowers or something, came running. She snatched me up by my good arm and half dragged/half carried me to the house.

She went to the cabinet, grabbed a can of snuff that was my granddad's, and proceeded to add a little water to the tobacco. She made a paste out of it, enough to cover the sting on my arm. She slathered the paste on the swelling sting, covering way too much of my lower arm, and told me to go sit down.

It did help relieve the sting/pain, but I swear I smelled like tobacco for a week.

I know that wasn't "snus", but I don't think my grandad would have been caught dead chewing some pre-pouched European tobacco. He sniffed his tobacco, and occasionally chewed Redman.
