I visit there for work. There is plenty of night life in downtown madison and you have a great college football atmosphere.

I've visited family there. A very nice town with lots of things to do as a child.

With you being a southerner, there are certainly worse places to move in the north than ‘sconnie land. If I were in your position, I’d look west towards Mt. Horeb as a place to relocate as it’s still a quaint little town that is close enough to the city (don’t worry, the round-abouts Bucky mentioned are single lane and easy to navigate, at least the ones I’ve encountered).

The job would be with Epic there in Verona.

I'd worry more about working there than Madison. They have some high turnover there and havent heard many great things about the way they treat their employees. You must be in your twenties because thats all epic seems to hire

I don't believe one word of that except you may have gone to a wedding reception there once. Most Badger fans are very self-aware and would not talk crap about beating Alabama. And I'm a UW alum and have never been called snooty, quite the opposite. Wisconsinites are great people.

Lived in Madison back in the mid 90s while attending UW. Had an apartment near Holy Name Seminary, which was interesting in that the football Badgers held their pre-Fall camp there.

Winters were a bit harsh, but my wife and I had a great time. Met and remain friends with some of the nicest persons you could know. We even got a chance to visit the Saints during one of their pre-season practices in Lacrosse.

I'm sure that much has changed since then, but I can think of a lot worse places to stay. I would not have any issue living there again and would enjoy doing so.
