Yes, it was a mild inconvenience and made me want to avoid the stretch of I-10 where it happened. But nothing more than inconvenience happened.

Not completely random, but yes. It was September 11th, 2002, and they flagged me as also having crossed into the US in the early morning hours of September 11th, 2001 at the same border crossing station.

Returning from Canada into western NY, I had to exit my vehicle and go be questioned inside while they searched the car. The whole thing took less than 20 minutes, though. It was purely coincidental that I was there on both dates, but they were very cautious back then.

Yeah. Common at border crossings. Trudeau has been going full retard with the whole importing Muslims to Canada thing like Obama was, so there's a higher level of scrutiny.

Some months ago one of them traveled across the Ontario/Michigan border and shot a policeman at the Flint Airport.

Coming back from a hunting trip near Del Rio we had to stop at a Border Patrol station along the highway. This station was not the on the border. They just politely asked what we were doing and had their dog sniff around out truck and trailer. Was no big deal and took maybe 10 minutes.

Never been searched by border patrol but when we lived in South Florida my dad's friend and his family were on the boat with us. They were all born in the US but are of Cuban descent. Coast Guard stopped us and checked everything to make sure we weren't smuggling.

Back in 2000, I was working for a company that sold scented candles. I'd hit several stores each day, in Mississippi and Louisiana.

I was cruising I20, about to make a pit stop in Vicksburg when I got lit up from behind. I get off the interstate and pull into a convenience store lot. A sheriff's car pulled into the lot on my left, so I put my hands on the wheel where he could see them. Another vehicle pulled in behind me.

The guy behind me shined his flashlight into the back of the van, then slid down the side until he got to my door. Told me to lower the window, which I did. Asked me what I was hauling, and I told him it was scented candles.

The deputy sheriff called on the radio, "What you got?". He sounded real excited, so I was glad I had put my hands on the wheel. The Border Patrol agent said "Scented candles. I can smell 'em."

That was it. Driving a plain white van before daylight on I20 is apparently a suspicious activity.
