Yes basically, he received fewer votes than his opponent of the portion of the population that voted. Of course, we have the electoral college so he won the election.
On the subject of these shows, they have gotten stale, but Trump gives them fodder on a daily basis and it likely makes sense from a business standpoint with their target demographics and such.
Republicans hyperventilated for 8 years over gay Kenyan Muslim socialist Obama, now it's the Democrats turn. When Kamala Harris or whatever terrible Democrat gets elected next, Republicans will spend 4-8 years on fox news and am radio bemoaning the destruction of the country. So it goes

Really? I heard it all the time from Sean Hannity, Bill O'reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Colter, Laura Ingrahm, etc...thems some funny folks right there!

Another example of how the internet and social media has ruined things.
When I watched these late night shows in the 90's the hosts had a field day with the Clintons, Lewinsky and his other transgressions.
And Hartman's Clinton on SNL was hilarious. As was Dana Carvey and Bush I.
Everyone laughed. Now people just get angry.

The entire "late night" lineup has morphed into an absolute political shill-show for the democratic party. It's pathetic; 1970s Pravda was less biased. 
And so, I don't watch any of them. The only humorous thing they all share is the complete failure on their part to portray Hillary Clinton as a likeable person. She remains the despicable witch she's always been.
