In the one by the track, look for a little ornate container on a shelf behind the bar near the front. I think the name on it is “Gordon Leaf”. He was a regular who was cremated and wanted his ashes kept there.

And they used to make excellent bbq shrimp.

By the track has awesome BBQ shrimp. Wear something you don’t mind smelling like a bar restaurant because you will smell strongly of it when leaving.

you’re supposed to drink them before it sweats - I remember when you used to be able to smoke in there - and there were more tables

And the obnoxious nasal woman yelling ‘I need a frozen’

I don’t remember ever sitting at a table cloth table

You make a great point about the waitress yelling

I will add some surly waitresses to my first post as well

I grew up in that neighborhood so we went pretty often - last few times we went before Covid it’s been empty and the frenchuletta is great

I ate at the one on Bienville for the first time a month ago. It was good. It was a Sunday at lunchtime and no one was in there though.

I guess i misunderstood what was being asked. the two arent related, the mid city one was recently sold. And the one by the track is being run by one of the original owners nephews.

I was just stating that they are not with the original owners due to them dying.
