I've been sick since Saturday night the equilibrium thing and then they did a hearing loss test and my hearing loss is so bad now it's not even funny.

The bad vertigo is not constant. I'm dizzy in some form or fashion every day. Rapid side to side head movements will trigger bad vertigo. Can't look up for an extended period either. You get used to knowing what you can and can't do.

It feels like my head is just muffled and the first bought with vertigo was not pleasant to say the least.

I dont know much about it, but there are a few surgical options that decrease the fluid in the vestibular canals. Also there are a few medical options like diuretics and decreasing salt intake. The idea there is that decreasing total fluid in the body will decrease the fluid in vestibular canals.

I appreciate the feed back and I have noticed that about the rapid head movement.

Only that Ryan Adams has it.

It feels like your head is full of helium, your ears are full of water, and somebody needs to
answer the fricking doorbell.
answer the fricking doorbell.

Damn. That sucks. Best of luck to you.
FWIW, if you're going to have to learn sign language, your local library has a lot of books and tutorials and this website is legit.

Yeah the doctor did prescribe a diuretic it hasn't been filled yet hopefully that helps.

In all seriousness sometimes I wonder if I have this. I get vertigo and tinnitus from time to time. Not enough to really bother me but enough to wonder if it's something I should bring up to my doctor.
Allergies and Hangovers can legit feel like symptoms of the Meneires sometimes. But lasts a day or two.
Imagine having this disease is feeling like that everyday. frick THAT.

Thanks I appreciate it.

I think the treatment usually starts conservatively for it, so the diuretics and decreasing salt intake can help. There are a few surgeries but they can be risky and compromise your ability to hear. This link has a few examples.

i have a very good friend with it and he can tell you anything you need to know.
email me and i'll put you in touch with him.
<--- @live.com
he was ben fold's audio engineer and prior to diagnosis spent his entire life training his ears for the slightest nuances of sound.
sucked big time for him. he had to change careers and because he worked for me for a number of years i've gotten to experience firsthand how its affected him and his ability to do his job.
long story short; it sucks but he's making it pretty well 10+ years after diagnosis. the biggest problem for him was giving up his lifelong love of music.

Anybody know anything about Meneires Disease?
Where to start:
1. He's arrogant
2. He blames the kids, NCAA, and the umps
3. Needs a better hitting coach
I can go on
