I Got mis-diagnosed with it.
I assume they told you to cut out salt. I cut it out wayyyyy below what they said (the worst diet you can have is a very low salt diet btw), and it had no affect on the ringing in my ears I experienced.
Finally, I found out it was related to ANY artificial sweetner, and to a certain extent high sugar intake.
So, just for the fun of it, I suggest you lower your salt intake drastically, and cut out all artificial sweetners. And try to eat popcorn without salt.
Sorry for your diagnosis. It is the most mis-diagnosed "disease" going on nowadays, hopefully, you are mis-diagnosed and will get better soon.

I e had it for four years. When you rollover in bed it sounds like sand flowing from one side to the other. That's the crystals in your inner ear out of sync after about a week or so it goes away. Have episodes 1 to 2 times per year. I've excepted it now and just deal with it.
