My parents probably capped off at 100k household income (my wife and i made that at 25) and somehow we had everything we needed growing up. Now they are both retired and have 2 houses and probably $1M in the bank. Not OT baller money, but good for their lifestyle in rural SC.

It's crazy how you adjust your lifestyle based on income. At least I have....

In the 80's they probably combined for 40k. At retirement, in mid 2000's I assume they made around 100k.

But yea, agree

Not anytime soon. Wife has vet school tab and we will be getting a business loan in the next year and a half. Forever in debt.

Working on it. Wifey and I paid off both our vehicles this past year.

If things go according to plan, I'll pay off the rest of my student debt from A&M this year. She never had any debt to begin with (her parents helped her out).

Should be debt free just in time to get a mortgage on a house after we leave the military Putting away some seed money for that, too, though.

Honest reply time.....unlike others here. LOL.

I owe on my mortgage, had a setback in 2010 that took me in quite a bit of debt. Currently owe on a mortgage and $20k of other debt. Hope to have 1/3 of that paid off by year end. But, I do have quite a bit of extra money each month so at least things are not tight.

Vehicles currently paid off.

All I have is a mortgage and pay for my daughters high school and college which I am paying cash for. After she is done I will take that money and pay off my mortgage in 5 years and be done! Will be debt free in 10 years at age 55. I know that isn't OT baller status but I am happy about it.

Student loan debt. Will have it knocked out in a little less than 3 years.

It's a pretty sizable amount .

My wife and I own our house and her car. I have about 4 years left on my car. Knocked out a couple credit cards in December and have plans to knock out all but 1 by May.

Student Loans on the back burner but it's only like 15k. And got a personal loan for like 25k that is tied to inheritance so I'm not worried about that.

Debt is good to have for your credit. All it takes is sacrifice and smart strategic planning to be in a good situation. My wife and I make enough to handle our debt and invest in retirement.

I just increased the payments on my vehicle, so that'll be paid off in the next two years.

I'm actually paying the minimums on my student loan debt (less than 5k) so, when I decide to buy a house in the next 2-3 years I'll have an open line of credit.
