Flu going around during the winter when the holidays encourage social gatherings? Shocking! Wonder if that’s why it’s called the flu season?
Had the flu in august. Pretty sure I have it now. Wife and I discussed this….prior to covid we never were sick. Something is different

Kid brought it home from school, school had even sent email to all parents about how it was raging there. Hadn't had legit flu in many many years but man did it put me down for a good week with lingering brutal cough for another week and a half. Chills, fever, aches, no appetite, lost 15 lbs.
ER doc I spoke to coincidentally during that time said current flu variant he was seeing in hospital was way worse than recent Covid strains.

daughter started with a low grade headache over the weekend, then a mild fever and fatigue yesterday.
last night I could feel something was starting up with me, doubled my Vit C, D, and Zinc + nasal colloidal silver
my immune system is usually in overdrive, wife and kid catch something and are amazed that I don't get it from them, and if I do the duration and severity is a fraction of theirs.
...we'll see about this one....

Whole house had it Thanksgiving. It was way worse then Covid!

Just had it and it kicked my arse for two days. Tested positive on Thursday and am still just tired as hell. Not to make this political, but this has been 10x worse than the 3 times I've had covid.

Currently at the urgent care waiting on my tests. Hoping they give me something to help me sleep.

flu is always around. But fall/winter kick it into overdrive. While it may be a different strain and more virulent, I don't think its extraordinary for it to be more prevalent at this time of the year.
And while you may feel something is "different" cause "now I have it", I'd bet its pretty normal as flu viruses go (except for its severity).
Wash your hands, bro. Your immune sytem aint special.

My whole family had it a few weeks ago. The doctor prescribed my 10 year old son Xofluza and he was back to normal in less than 48 hours. I just toughed mine out like a man (or dumbass because the shite lingered for a week).

I'm more concerned with the sinus/congestion shite. I've never had anything like it. It's a strange, persistent, dry cough.

Flu shot takes 2 weeks before it can offer any protection against the flu.

Our house had Flu A. It was absolutely terrible. It’s been 10 days and we still don’t have full strength back and wife is now battle an ear infection bc of it. I had my flu shot btw… useless as tits on a nun.

Why are you so mad?
And ftr, this is worst flu season in at least a decade. Probably related to Covid protocols killing the American immune system.
I’m getting destroyed by the flu right now. So is the family. Of course I’m still expected to work from home when I can’t think due to headaches and chills.

NyQuil
Hot toddy with sleepytime tea, 2 shots bourbon, local honey, lemon
Acetaminophen isn’t good to mix with booze regularly but 1 or two nights won’t kill you.

Same.
Coughed for 6 weeks, finally shook it, now my nephew gave me this new crap. Though sometimes it’s not dry and I get a fun rattle when breathing

Feel like I've been at least a little sick for over a month now, including a few times it was more than a little. Kids bringing shite home from school, weather, travel, work stress all breaking me down.
Not sure the flu has graced us yet, though.

Not the flu, but the sinus infection to end all sinus infections. Started 2.5 weeks ago. Went to doc and got steroid and rocefin shot plus oral antibiotics. All symptoms went down except non stop drainage down into lungs and horrible wheezing cough. Had to get another steroid and rocefin shot yesterday along with Z pack, inhaler and bromfed. Now I’m not coughing, but can’t sleep.
Besides the treatment, you just accurately described exactly what I have been going through.
I don't ever remember getting my arse kicked like this by something for so long.

I actually tested negative for COVID. I normally wouldn't care, but I was curious because of how strange it is. Negative test.
