Neddy's Pond with the rope swing!
LSU students streaking thru the Lab School quad at lunch in the mid 70s.
The VW bug that sat on top of the telephone pole at the corner of College and I-10.
Blue Laws - nothing open on Sundays.

Forgot about the bug.
Funny thing is back in the 80s, everyone bitched there was nothing to do

I played for the Bengals my freshman year of high school. 79 I think it was. Fun Fair Park on Friday nights with live bands, Skate City, and Leo's on North st. with the paper bag tag game, Hanging out at Cortana when it was new, Frisco's, "drag racing' down Wooddale, Sound City, New Generations, McDonalds on Greenwell Springs and Monterrey, and as someone said, Monticello, it was loaded with hot girls!!

Boy did I! So many great memories of a town that has gone so far down hill.
I grew up in parts of Baton Rouge that I would be nervous to drive through at 11AM on a sunny, week day.
Remember the Goodyear blimp passing over Memorial Stadium during games?
Remember seeing Buckskin bill in parades and feeling like I was seeing a world known celebrity.
Playing on the old jet at Howell Park. Riding bikes on the sidewalk of Winbourne until dark.
Going to Delmont Village shopping center to see the mechanical elves in the store windows.
Going to Hoppers to get the best vanilla shake I've ever had.
Tiger Drive In. Shoppers Fair. Steinburgs. Pak a sak. Esso. WLCS on the radio.
I could go on and on.......

I don’t know if I remember the hawks. The Sherwood Falcons practiced at Sherwood Forest elementary just down from St Thomas more on goodwood.
I played for the Falcons and Coach Stogner. Lived on Westbrook right in front of the school.

Kenilworth checking in...
Great yards to play football and baseball in. Woods nearby with dawsons creek to catch snakes and turtles. Fishing the walden lakes. Ride up to 7-11 to play defender, donkey kong and other video games. It was a great childhood bc I grew up with 7 guys all withing 2 yrs of each other that were basically all within 4-5 houses of mine

Would do the late night bike ride with the gang and catch the Krispy creme trucks early delivery to our local grocery. Grab a couple dozen before the store opened and high tail it to the rec center. Climb onto of the building enjoying our latest loot while we watched early morning traffic dodge the construction barrels we had placed across the road
Playing pinball at the local Dairy Queen till Mr. Calvert would run us off. Red Oaks checking in.

Someone mentioned Tiger drive in, I remember the one on Airline by the old State Troop A and by the Rebel shopping center. We used to go to the flea market and the green stamps store too

Neddy’s pond . The huge bar pit that was where the Sam’s and Wal Mart are on Siegan Lane
That's me catching the big fishes at that exact borrow pit. I'm standing where Walmart Parking lot is today.
I-10 runs along the background beyond the trees.
Shirt says "Here comes trouble." I'm still at it!
