Anybody got a good recliner recommendation

I recently sat in a La Z Boy Vale and it was great but maybe a little pricey. Anybody got any recommendations on a similar recliner?
ETA: im looking for something slimmer. Don’t need a seat and a half or anything or even an above average sized recliner. That’s why the Vale was so attractive.

Recently purchased a lazy boy. We searched for about three or four months for a recliner. Lazy boy was the most comfortable hands down!

The local high end furniture store quit carrying layzboy. They couldn't keep up with the repairs.
Replaced with Flexsteel.
My two lazyboys have not lasted for shite. They are maybe 5 years old. I had two repairs. That's when I found out the place I bought from quit carrying them.
They did honor the warranty but no longer sell lazyboys.
Maybe that help

This sounds like an old man thread, so I'll comment. Had a Lane leather recliner for years. Was very happy with it but after ten years it was just worn out. Very well made. The head rest had a zipper on it and I use to keep a stash of money in it for when ever the kids needed cash for something. Told my wife, If I die, check the head rest on the recliner before you throw it out. The one I have now was given to me, not sure of the brand, but it works for me.

I have one from American Leather and it's the shite! Wasn't cheap but it looks great and is extremely comfortable.

Hard to beat a Flexsteel in quality and comfort. Not going to be cheaper than LaZBoy though, which OP indicated was an issue.

See if you can find a "Catnapper" to try out! Wore out mine, and then bought a Lazy Boy! Big mistake on my part! Should have stayed with what I knew!

My first big purchase after graduating was a leather Lazy-Boy glider recliner. I went with the oversized / big boy with the foot rest extension. Paid $1,000 in 2004, but it still works great and comfortable as hell.

I'm 6'5". Had a Lazy Boy big and tall for over 10 years now. Love it. No issues.

Agreed. My first one years ago was the bomb..
Times have changed. These aren't your same lazy boys.
