Some of the Uptown weeknight parades used to set land speed records.

I have a vague memory of hearing about NOMTOC in Algiers lasting barely that long years ago.
They foolishly took a different route, floats got stuck in a tree and one decapitated float and most of the parade was stuck on back streets and very few tractor drivers knew how to back up with floats attached. It ended that verson.

Downtown Jefferson, Texas yesterday during the parade and party. Tiny little town that has Mardi Gras weekend every year for decades. And yeah, we know how to roux, fry catfish and jambalaya up this direction.

Off topic but pretty cool, shortest St Patrick’s day parade in Hot Springs, Arkansas…

Eve's first year (Mandeville) was a joke and lasted about 20 minutes. They had multiple back to back floats with no bands or marching orgs in between.

It was 1987 and run by women. How big do you think the audience was?

The Ohio Club in Hot Springs is awesome. Oldest speakeasy in the state. Capone, Bugsy, Bugs, Lucky and Babe Ruth used to drink there.
