Anybody ever bought a print from the Advocate?

I notice online their pictures all have a "Buy" icon. I'm thinking for football season it'd be cool to buy one and get it framed. The $175 big print.

Any experience?

I have all the LSU baseball championship prints.

Not sure what the cost was.

Framed them separately at a local frame shop.

They actually do a great job. Nice paper, high quality.

So do I... except maybe the 2009 one. (or 2010... whatever year it was.)

Never did get them framed though, all rolled up in a tube somewhere.

I have the 03 and 07 national championship prints. Parents got them framed for me. Only complaint is that they aren't the same size. So they have different matting in the framing. They aren't cheap, but they aren't exactly expensive either. The cost comes in the framing.

Can't remember the exact price, but I overpaid. Had to bring my own ladder and everything.

To answer OP's question, I have a print of the Times Picayune cover from the Saints super bowl. They really do look good framed - but as another poster said, get it framed elsewhere.

No, but I do laugh every time that I see a certain former OTer took a pic

I like the bigger ones. I'm thinking if they get a good field level shot of O leading the team out the stadium would be a good picture to have if the clarity and quality are well done.

They're expensive but there aren't many options like this for LSU prints.

Bought 1 for the Saint's NFC title game win and 1 for the Superbowl win.

I have a few where I appeared on the Outdoors page.

I'll never get the LSU championship ones. seems like a dime a dozen and overdone.

The older ones are bigger because the Advocate shrank the actual size of the paper to save money at some point. My husband has all the baseball championships and the 2009 one has a much wider mat in the frame.

OP, if you're buying just a photo, and not the actual glossy print of a newspaper page, you probably won't have this same problem because you can order whatever size print you want.

I was going to buy the glossy photo print and have it framed. Not sure it's worth $175 but I guess since it's a short run print, that's fine.
