I have said for a number of years that every Viet Nam vet should be given transportation to the grave of LBJ and allowed to piss directly on the grave.
I knew two men that died in Viet Nam.
I has just taken back some today when my friend's son took the time to call me and ask me what he did. He was there in 68. He was in some shite and he has told me about some of it but has not told his family. Those guys sometimes did things they are not proud of because it was what they were told to do or were expected to do.

And Trump in the minds of those there defines conservatism.

Uniform didn't matter. Haircut would give you away.

I was captured one morning when a rooster crowed as I tried to escape. They named a dish after me:
"Chicken Catch A Tory"

In my experience, the guys that actually saw combat don’t really talk about it.The guys that want to talk about it ,all the V.C.they killed etc.are usually the guys that didn’t actually fight.
A guy I went to high school with joined the Navy shortly after I did, everybody he talks to this day he tells them bunch bullshite stories about being Marine Corp sniper, how many VC he killed etc.Crazy thing,he actually did see combat. He was on one of those patrol boats that patrolled the rivers,it was fairly dangerous but I guess it doesn’t sound as badass as being sniper.

No one could possibly explain what it's like to be in combat. Only the ones that have lived it know the horror.
To think this has been going on for thousands of generations makes one wonder who we really are.
We are doomed.

I got nothing, but a story about my uncle seems fitting here. As a little kid, I was all about military stuff, and knew my uncle was in Vietnam, so asked him about it all the time. He would never tell me anything.
So we lived out in the sticks, and had chickens, which were being decimated by a “chicken hawk” whatever that is. One day my uncle Gib shows up, and he, my dad and I take a walk along the tree line and sit down. My uncle has what I now know was a 30-06 rifle. My uncle picks off the chicken hawk with one shot. I don’t know how high it was, but I know I got to a 9 count before it hit ground, because my dad told me to count.
I was 10 years old, and really too young to understand completely, but I’ll never forget my dad looking right at me and saying, “Now you know what your Uncle Gilbert did in Vietnam.”
