OK. You had me confused for a minute. Didn't know you were pulling a Scruffy. I was going to have to reexamine my mental picture of you if you were a she.

Work with a PT.
This. I developed this in both feet training for 1/2 marathon a few months ago. The PT provided rehabilitation (utrasound and then massage the hell out of it). You will need to stretch and strengthen your calf muscles and the muscles in the bottom of your feet.
It took me two months, but I no longer have any pain in my feet and I have started running again.

I have this in my left foot. Saw a podiatrist for it. He gave me special inserts for my shoes(those help a lot). I wear those in my nursing shoes at work and whatever shoes I work out in.
I also wear a brace on my foot at night sometimes when it bugs me. Mine got so bad that I was limping on it for an hour or two each morning as soon as I woke up. The brace works very well for me.
I also keep a frozen water bottle in my freezer when it bugs me I roll my foot on that for relief.
Stretches...I do lots of stretches to that foot. Simplest and easiest one(that makes the biggest difference to me)....are calf stretches against a wall in your home.
Good luck...I've been told PF is something that sometimes will never fully go away. You just have to manage it really.

My husband wears New Balance and also uses the arch supports they sell for his other shoes. I got control of mine with Orthaheel. Serious arch support is necessary. Not Dr. Scholls.

Cortisone shot
Dorsi Wedge (Google it)
Replace shoes frequently
Downward dog yoga pose does a great job stretching it.

My buddy who is a CNP shoots people up all the time for PF. Says it's one of the most painful shots one can get.

Cortisone shot
^That, but careful. My bro, who is an avid triathlete/Ironman, did this shot. Painful as frick. Made it fell like the PF was gone. Its not, the pain is just masked. You still need to keep up with stretches, ice, and exercises or you'll make it worse. He did, and it took FOREVER to heal.
As a runner, I was always happy I never had to deal with PF…..until I started training for triathlons. Now I've been dealing with it going on 10 months. FML.

Just wear a condom next time.

800mg ibuprofen (Advil) x3x/day (4 pills, 3 times a day)x 1 week + RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) if you've never had any sort of stomach ulcer before.
Alternatively, if you like naproxen (aleve), 2 pills, twice a day for a week. Again, if you've ever had a stomach ulcer, consider something else.

stop wearing any shoe that doesn't have arch support. purchase a set of arch supports and put in all your shoes.
Personally, I strongly disagree with this. Couldn't walk the 10 feet to the bathroom in the morning without stretching first. Feet were killing me. I tried a highly recommended non-prescription arch support to no avail. While still suffering, I did a lot of reading. I decided my shoes weren't letting my feet work was nature designed. I switched to shoes with no support to speak of - top Siders, five fingers, and new balance minimus. My feet haven't bothered me for the last 4 years since I made the switch to non-supporting shoes. Essentially barefoot is a wonderful thing.

I had PT w/ ASTEM and lots of exercises and stretching on my own. I've also been told that dry needling does great for PF too?

I experienced this last year and dealt with it for a long time before simply buying the plantar fasciitis inserts at your local drugstore (Wal-Greens, Rite-Aid, etc.) and now they are in all of my shoes or boots. I no longer deal with it....
The inserts (I believe they are Dr. Scholls) are not very big and fit in the heel of the shoe or boot. Hope this helps.

Go see Christian Hall. Shot, taped foot and nighttime brace that keeps it stretched all night.
Then go to Varsiity Sports and look at Halls Wall. About eight different shoes. I did this three years ago and I am 100% healed and I was like a lot posting. Could hardly walk for a couple of hours in morning and exercise was a bitch.
The brace was the best thing I did. I still have it and if it creeps up I put it on for a night or two.

Also, the ones I bought are gray and have no gel in them. They cup the heel and provide just the right amount of arch support. Good luck, we who have suffered from this know how much it sucks.
