OP you are both still in school so then you're young. If what you and she say is true, she will need a LOT of therapy. She hasn't told her folks yet? Then you are about step 4 or 5.
Maybe other reasons she hadn't told the folks. When the ED is taken away these women have multiple issues. Possibly a horrendous past.
As mentioned. Don't be an enabler. I would suggest have a plan b.
She may not be "right" until she's 30. Or hitting the 30 milestone may frick her all up again.

Yep. Even if it's going to a shitty Student Health Center. Maybe they can at least refer her elsewhere.
No matter the eating disorder, she's likely doing damage to her internal organs with any of those the longer it goes on. She definitely needs to seek out professional help for the issue.

The cousin of a close friend died of anorexia. Smart, pretty, a perfectionist, pretty much the standard profile of someone who's susceptible to it. Don't mess around with this stuff, get professional help.

Working in ERs I've seen a few. Not many but a few. The rest I got my info from Intervention. They are easily the most fricked up. Not even saying that to be snarky, it is just fact. Just a completely damaged and skewed view of self. Self worth is zero.
Add to it the excesses of college? Alcohol and drugs if your friends lean that way. And if she binges? She may wreck some buffets or parties or whataburgers? You guys have whataburgers in BR? I dont know.

She purges after she eats. She doesn't binge eat. She just feels the need to purge anyway. It's heartbreaking to know a loved one goes through that.

one of my wife's best friends was belimic(sic?). She did group therapy, and it worked. This was 7 or 8 years ago.
She has been much healthier since then, and got over it.
It was a really tough 3 months for her though. Sounded like hell.

Eating disorders are a mental health issue. She needs to see a licensed psychiatrist/therapist
