I have always gotten good help on this wonderful board, and I am hoping it happens again. I anxiously await every funny and crazy response, but I am hoping to get some good recommendations. Many thanks.

Home and garden might be a solid board to ask as well

Are you a female? Is your husband away? It doesn't get much easier to DIY, unless you're changing to tankless and didn't state it in the OP.

I did the Rheem with the econet app
Pretty cool, can adjust the temp through the app and if it has a leak, it automatically closes the service valve to it

It's honestly a contender for easiest change-out jobs there is when it comes to household "major" repair.

The water heater company doesn’t want you to know this but if you tilt the water heater to about 30 degrees it will auto empty and you won’t have to drain it manually

Just got to keep tilting it from the top until you feel the water start to shift

Thanks for your fast response. Attic, gas. Lube, that's what I have heard and was afraid of, ouch. Maybe cold water is not so bad.

Why would you put the water heater in the attic

Like what are the benefits it seems like it would be more trouble and more potential stuff going wrong

Your question is pretty general. Do you want cold water heater or hot water heater guys?
