The Mortiary on Canal Street in Mid-City is a legit event that’s not on the satanic side and it’s about as safe as you get in New Orleans.
It’s a legit experience & not some makes shift haunted deal.

I have been wanting to do that since I heard about the one on the north shore.
Some one should try to do the same with a cane field.

Took my son to Rise when he was about 10. At one point in this swamp scene, he got scared by the voodoo priestess, pushed me and ran like a little bitch. I stepped off the path. My foot got caught in the set so I fell down, and the poor voodoo priestess had to help me up, made sure I was ok. When little Low finally realized he was by himself and turned back to get me, he thought the priestess was attacking me and took off running again. It was all over when that chainsaw cranked up and started chasing him near the end. He didn't know if he was ready to leave or do it all over again. We've gone to a haunted house every year after that, he looks forward to it and tries to get me to bring him to a different one out of town.
Do it if you think he's ready for it.

Be careful of the one at the Houma airbase. I got falsely accused of punching some dork in the face that was a worker in the haunted house. Whoever was the dipshit cop did no investigation and straight handcuffed me, perp walked me, and gave me a battery ticket in front everyone including my kids. He wouldn't listen to anything I said. I never had any interaction with this person. After he was done I went to manager to get him to pull the camera feeds. Guess which camera was not working. Manager watched the rest of the cameras following me in and out and told me he had problems before with this guy accusing people of the same stuff that he was going to fire him.

Check your local library system. Ours has advertised some "spooky" activities but not sure how scary it could be. The local fire department also used to put on a haunted house.

I took my 10yr old son last year. Take your kid. The shite isn't scary. It's actually pretty awesome what they've done. They won't try to scare little kids. Mainly adults. I mean I could see every hiding place before we ever got to it because they were scaring the teens in front of us. It's setup really well. It's expensive but it was worth going once to check it out.

I worked there for a few years , yes they had satanic themes , yes it was a blast to work at and the owners were the nicest , non satanic , guys you could meet . Was all just a show albeit a very elaborate one
