Thinking about rocking fountain pen in recognition of my high douche level
Thinking lamy to start. I need a cool ink choice to make it work

Love ‘em, but I’m not a pen snob. And like everyone else, I use a keyboard so much now that I don’t use my pens nearly as much as I used to.

Say what you will. I carry a nice pen (I have several) every day and cannot even begin to count the compliments I have received when I pull it out to sign a tab. I have stuck to rollerball cartridges though. I fly a lot for work and have heard horror stories about fountain pens vomiting ink during pressure changes.
No idea if that is true or an old wive's tale so I will shut up and listen. Certainly the OT contains at least one Fountain Pen aficionado.

I cannot keep a nice pen bc either a nasty patient will want / need to borrow it to sign a consent form or a doctor will swipe it.

I have a basic Montblanc Meisterstuck 140mm fountain pen I was given as a gift by my uncle for graduating college. I fell in love with writing with it. I took all my notes in law school using it (yes I am olde) and have used it pretty much 5 days a week at work for 30 year. It is used mainly for signing today but I do write notes with it. I use bulk ink with a piston converter which gives much better flow (for me) than the cartridges. I have replaced the converter probably 6 times, I think they are about $10 now. I still write a good number of handwritten thank you notes and use various colors of ink but for work I always use "permanent blue" to easily distinguish my original signature from a copy.
I am not one to lose things (I still have sunglasses I bought in the 90's) but a lot of people lose pens so that definitely isn't cost-effective for them. I do know there are a lot of pens much cheaper that write just as well or better according to a lot of pen aficionados.
One thing a fountain pen did do for me is improve my penmanship. I learned I really did press down way to hard and the fountain pen broke me of that.
