My parents got divorced when I was in HS.

I was always a pragmatic kid. I realized they fought a lot and were happier apart. They made me see a therapist just in case and the session was like 15 minutes and she told them "He's probably more ok with this than you guys are" .

And I got two Christmases.

My parents got divorced my sophomore year of high school. Talking bad about your ex to her will only make things worse. Just continue to show your daughter you love and care about her. Thats really all you can do baw.

I have the same situation.

My advice

1. Be steady and above the drama.
2. Make your home feel safe and stable. Children gravitate towards it
3. Be present in your daughter's life so that when the craziness comes out, she can see what mom is saying is not the truth without you even having to say a word in your own defense
4. DO NOT SAY ONE BAD WORD ABOUT YOUR CHILDS MOTHER TO YOUR DAUGHTER. Save it for private convos with either your current SO or a close friend/family member.
5. If your child tells you what their mother says about you simply ask, "is that how you feel because that is truly all that matters to me sweetie"... Make it safe for your child to address any problems she may have with you.

Bottom Line: Let Crazy be crazy...In the end your child will see the truth whether it be during their childhood or into their adult years. Never give up and let your daughter know you love her unconditionally and don't care what the world says about you as long as she knows the "real" Dad.
