Any OTers have a lot of Midway Airport experience?

I've got a 6:35am DL flight to MSP. Early arrival? Should I hop on the L around 4 am?

Oh, look. You travel by air and rail.

It's the only place in Chicago that I have ever been.

Sadly the same for me as well.
Have some friends from/live there now so I need to make a trip.

That sounds about right.
Priority check in or TSA PreChek?

If you are using the Midway for your flight, I think that's in Sahn Diego.
Depending on where your Chicago hotel room is, you might want to leave earlier.

We flew out of Midway Sunday morning at 1030. We hopped on the Red Line at Grand at 8 and switched over to Orange Line at Roosevelt. We were at the airport for 8:45. Lines were average but they moved quickly. We had time to sit down at Manny's for breakfast and we still got to our terminal for 930. It seemed like TSA at Midway has their shite together. New Orleans could learn a few things from them

It's tough to get a good read on how long the L takes to get from the Loop to Midway. Times are all over the place. A little more than 30 minutes?

It probably would have taken about 30 min had we not had to wait 15 min at Roosevelt to switchover to Orange

What part of the city are you coming from to get to Midway?
You're going to have to transfer from one line to the Orange Line in the Loop at some point (unless you're staying in the Loop itself). It normally takes me about 45 - 50 minutes total to get from Lincoln Park to Midway by train (probably a 30 - 35 minute cab).
Midway itself is easy and efficient - if you're flying Southwest and pre-check, I'd get there no more than 1:15 or an hour earlier than your flight.
Be aware, though - that walk from the train to the check in is a bitch.

If you are coming from. Loop its a 25 minute ride from Adams and Wabash. Security at MDW is hit or miss. If you are precheck or priority allow 15 minutes to clear tops. Regular can be wide open or a 30 minute wait, there really is not telling. Once through security there are ample bars and restaraunt a to kill time at.

eta- you said am
The first orange line doesn't leave the loop until like 430am, you'll be fine with an hour and a half. Even if checking bags.

Already checked in and no luggage to check so I can go right to security. The orange line is packed at 4:30am?
