No, but I heard a kid from U-High stuck a Louisiana state flag somewhere up there.

maybe this is what you remember.

t was with much happiness that I pulled out my LSU flag to proudly display right above Base Camp. With Laura's help, we held on through the very windy conditions!”

Could be.

Cool story either way.

Even if I had the desire I wouldn't pay that much money to do it and risk my life

I've driven up to peaks in Colorado and that's enough for me. Just the altitude and wind would make me give it a no go.

I hiked to base camp. Left an LSU flag of course.

Yesterday before work. Got a late start and made it back 5 minutes later than I expected.

my personal opinion is hiring sherpas to haul you up on fixed lines is lame and the impact on the mountain is becoming more and more evident. the sherpas do profit to some extent but not sure how much. hopefully they make out well at the end of the day

I own the record for the fastest summit of Mt. Driskill, so Everest would be pretty easy for me

Even if I had the money and time I probably wouldn't attempt it. Waiting in a long line of strangers in the death zone isn't my style.

I've climbed smaller peaks where my life was in the hands of my best friend. I'd also be comfortable with a small experienced group.

That said, despite the crowding, Everest is still a huge accomplishment.

October 2015 I think. Was the October following the bad earthquake in Nepal. I paid about $1,000 for my guide, lodging and Lukla flights.

ackysack There was a really cool snapchat posted a few years ago that documented a few americans summitting the mountain. I really wish I can remember what it was so I can go watch on youtube again

Believe your thinking of EverestNoFilter. Their YouTube page I think has them all compiled by day
