Ain't got shite to do with da corona, but ran up on this video and well...It's a $4 bounty.
"Ride around, get drunk and shoot rats all day"! Think that's what he said.
Dayum.

If only we had an outdoor board to talk about such things...

Many years ago, a few friends of mine and I would trap them down in the marsh in Pecan Island. We got $6-$10 per pelt back then. It was nasty work. There weren't near as many as there are now though. Now you can get paid just to kill.

yep, it was $5 when I was in highschool. We would get drunk, shoot them, collect the tails, and never turn them in the get paid the next morning

Guys that lease from Continental are required to shoot x number of nutria per year based on their lease size. Was way easier to accomplish when they would let us burn the marsh. Shoot them, lop tail off and move on to next group.

With an increasing number of baws being laid off or furloughed, this is about pandemic job insecurity and re-branding. A new growth industry. Just like python rodeos in Florida.

Blasting them from an airboat is great fun.
We had the body count up to almost 18,000 after a few years of shooting.
Had to stop for a while because the gators were going hungry and the cut grass was starting to take over.

Given the price of oil and other taxes being depleted do to corona, state will not have money to pay.

Nutria hunting is an essential business.

because the gators were going hungry
That just means the gators were overpopulated.
