I typically buy my suits and sports coats off the rack and I would like to have a few custom tailored. Don't want to go crazy like a $5,000 bespoke but I'd like to have a few tailored suits.

Wondering what I'm looking at price wise at Martinez or any others in town.

$5K will get you a suit, 3 or 4 shirts, and a couple of ties.

Worth it IMHO.

I've been flirting with the idea of going custom with Martinez, but there's an off the rack suit from Perlis that fits like a dream with some minor alteration, so I've had a hard time justifying the increase in price.

I could see myself going made to measure on a tuxedo at some point soon, though.

Ive used him and at the time, he had several price levels for suits. I probably bought 10 or 15 from him over time - all in the $1200 to $1500 range.

Quality stuff and he services and repairs well.

I'm not opposed to paying $5k, if all of that is included. I'm assuming the shirts and ties are tailored also?

Custom, not tailored. If he has anything to do with the manufacture of it, he's not going to be tailoring a premade piece of clothing. He's going to be modifying his patterns specifically for your measurements and having the clothes made so that they fit you almost perfectly upon arrival with minimal final tailoring needed.

His shirts are custom. The ties, I don't know. I'd imagine they would be custom as well, though. Martinez has a really good name in the clothing world and I doubt he'd be selling custom suits running into the thousands of dollars only to have their look ruined because a $25 off the shelf tie is a quarter inch too narrow for the cut of his $3000 suit.
