Yep.
Ended up in an emergency appendectomy and they got it out just as it was about to rupture (it was "oozing" when they removed it).
A week before my law school exams.

I almost died from it at 13 but my case was somewhat unique and not at all the norm. I think it's generally an outpatient surgery now if they catch it early.

My wife had hers removed. She was in pretty acute pain

Tell tale sign of appendicitis is if you push down on the right side of your lower abdomen and it hurts when you release the pressure. If it hurts when you push down but not when you release it's likely no appendicitis. If you have pain when you release the pressure I'd go to the hospital ASAP. Do not want your appendix to rupture. Mine was close to rupturing when I was about six and I needed emergency surgery. Ruptured appendix can be fatal. Hope you get it figured out and fixed!

Mine was ruptured for 2 weeks and originally misdiagnosed.

When I was in college, home over the winter break, I developed extreme nausea and violent vomiting. After several hours of this they decided it was appendicitis even though I had no abdominal tenderness. They were getting ready to prep me for surgery when whatever it was passed and I felt fine. They sent me home and an hour latervI was eating a cheeseburger.
Wut? No CT scan? They were prepping you for surgery with no proof of appendicitis? Was this in 1970?

Last night my stomach began cramping in an unusual manner. Figured it was just gas or symptoms of eating pizza earlier, so went and took a dump and temporarily felt better. An hour later I developed a low grade fever which went away with Ibuprofen. Now I’m lying in bed and not in pain, but the right side of my abdomen feels tender.
Am I panicking or should I think about getting checked out?
I had literally the same symptoms your describing, went to my primary care physician and within 3 minutes he asked "Have you ever had surgery before?".
I said yes and he said, "Well you're about to have another one." and sent me to the ER right away.
Thankfully they caught it early and were able to go in laparoscopically and nothing more invasive. I was in and out in a couple hours.
Again - no need to chance something more serious - get checked out.

Yep night before a week trip to Aruba. Can’t even imagine that happening over there. Go thru the belly button for removal the scar makes for a conversation piece after sex.

Get it checked out ASAP.
If you have it, which it sounds like there’s a chance, you are going to want it taken care of (surgery) before it ruptures.
This is one of those things that can kill you but won’t due to modern medicine. So go seek some modern medicine.

Yes.
Yes get that shite checked out. I had it during finals, and try to power through, and the doctor said it was around 10 hours from bursting when I finally got it out.
Apppendicitis is bad, bursting inside of you is horrendous.

Sophomore in high school.
Was sick for three days puking everywhere. Mom finally decides to bring me to the hospital. Ruptured appendix. Could’ve killed me. But alas, it did not.
The two weeks following sucked balls because they had to cut my abdomen open. It hurt to move.

Mine happened 30 years ago so perhaps the process and surgery is better now, but I had drains sticking out of my lower abdomen for over a month. I spent over 2 months in the hospital and 3 weeks in intensive care. Ended up having to get a chest tube due to fluid in my lungs all kinds of complications.
I have some pretty wicked scars from it too. I'd definitely rather catch it early.

I’m iffy based on that description.
When I had mine, it felt like I was having cramps like I needed to go but nothing would come out. I intended to lay down to see if I felt better later but I had to take the wife to the ER for an issue she was having and got looked at while there.
She got a scrip and was sent home, I got prepped for surgery.

You can see by the other posters that appendicitis is very common. Just go to an urgent care or something like that and get checked out. It is probably nothing and will put your mind at ease.

Not quite 1970 but it was a rural hospital and I guess they didn't have a CT machine at that time.

Had my appendix taken out a couple of weeks ago. Wasn’t appendicitis per se but my appendix was enlarged and the guidelines said it had to be removed. Discovered it on a CT scan when I broke a few ribs. Needless to say the pst couple of months sucked

Back In October. I’m over the age of 50, Dr said it’s a young mans condition lol! Get it checked, mine was perforated and the pain was just as you are describing.

Ruptured at age 43. Walked into ER hunched over with tears in my eyes. Staff dropped what they were doing and sprang into action, kind of scary. 4 hour surgery, 7 days in the hospital then at home for two weeks.
Catching it earlier is better.

If you came into the ER with that story I would CT your abd/pelvis. Can’t say you don’t have appendicitis.
