here was his yacht anchored in Auke Bay where I live.

Abramovich was here last year, I think his business jet is a 767 but he didn't bring it. His yacht however is amazing. Friend of mine did his fishing charters and got to tour the yacht.

I have been on the eclipse (had to wear plastic footies). Although it is a fine yacht, some of the crew were more impressive.

KA350 is tGOAT

Can take off and land in less than 3K feet on a hot day with a heavy load.

Fast as shite for a turboprop.

Like a Cadillac on the inside.

Better to have a friend with a plane than to have one

This. A good friend of mine is a pilot for a wealthy individual in LA. I've hitchhiked before.

This is what all the jet people don't understand.

It's the most underrated use of a private plane.

that 350 can land at a podunk airstrip nextdoor to the ski slopes in Wyoming, wheras the jet will require a 1 hour drive to get to your final destination

I am really interested to sell how well the new Pilatus PC-24 sells. Here's the link. It performs like a private jet but can land on unprepared airstrips. Very versatile.

Has your dad looked into a sport pilot certificate? Congress is about to hopefully pass a bill basically saying if you are healthy enough to maintain a driver's license then you can asses your own health before each flight (only for sport pilot rating or below which basically means you can't fly over densely populated areas)

OP, what kind of plane is it?

Another thread about simple GA planes, turns into a "baller-off" competition of private jets

I always wanted a plane, until I owned a boat. I'd still like a C150 or Super Cub to flitter around in.

making money on aircraft is almost impossible, at least for the owner.

One of the best STOL aircraft there is for an individual. So damn versatile too. LINK You can land these on a mountain top or a sand bar.

sadly planes are very easy to maintain and the engines are3 based on 1950's technology.
You could do almost all repairs yourself, but the FAA makes you go to someone who charges at least $200/hr to change your oil or pull your plugs.

They are flat air cooled engines. Very simple.

I keep looking at Pipers and Cessnas.

there is a nice Piper is on Ebay for $20k and I sit here and think I could get it if I skrimp on other things and don't take any vacations for three years.
