Any Invisalign users here?

I think mine was about $4k. It’s worked really well. Make sure your dentist/ortho knows what they’re doing and gives a shite. It’s easy to mail it in and not care. If the results aren’t spot on they have the ability to make further corrections.

My teeth are great, without the help of people who decide to practice medieval torture for a living, no braces or any problems. Good Viking genes, I guess.

I had a bad overbite that was fixed with braces when I was a teen. It went back and i was getting self conscious about it. Invisalign was a great option for me since my job is talking and appearance.

I think I went through 26 sets but I had a pretty significant move. To do a small move may be cheaper.

Treatment times vary but the average is usually 12-18 months. Maybe 6-9 months for very simple cases. Once you are finished with your treatment, you MUST wear retainers to prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original position. You risk wasting lots of money by not wearing your retainers.

Talk to your dentist to see if Invisalign is your only option. Bonded veneers is also commonly used to close small spaces and it is MUCH cheaper than Invisalign.

I had braces a few years back.

I was self conscious about being in my mid-20s and having braces, so I actually paid more to have whats called Incognito braces on my top teeth. They go behind your teeth so nobody can tell you have braces.

Anyways, after one of the brackets on my top teeth kept coming loose and prolonging the treatment, the ortho actually switched me to Invisalign free of charge. Invisalign is great because it allows you to take them out to eat and clean. I would recommend them if you qualify for them.

Havent seen anyone suggest what I did yet— which is just plain old braces.. in my mid 30s.. actually, they were sort of ‘clear’ on the maxilla (uppers), where you could just see the band, but still fairly obvious.. I dont really understand why everyone seems self-conscious; it’s no different than people who wear glasses, except it’s temporary.. if anything, braces make you look younger.. i wore mine for about a year and a half, had great results— but the key is, as someone above mentioned — you MUST, must wear your retainer for the rest of your life (or as long as you want your teeth to remain straight) or any braces you get are a collosal waste of money.. if you are like me, and you know that you arent going to wear a retainer every night— then get your doctor to install a permanent retainer.. i have a lingual retainer on my lower teeth, and it works like a charm.. the only drawback is that it makes it harder to floss— but who actually flosses anyway? :-)

What do you recommend? I am actually going to the dentist tomorrow for scaling (I think that is what he said). They are going to measure my bite to see if the problem I have can be done with Invisalign. I have one canine tooth that has just simply grown sideways since it first came in and I just cannot deal with it. It's caused teeth 23-27 to be crooked and I am just flat out repulsed by it.

Dentist said braces were almost transparent and had a higher success rate. Also, he said he wasn't sure Invisalign could work suggesting canine is the hardest to move.
