Any ideas of finding a used steel drum in the Lafayette area?

It's a stupid Halloween thing, so it's not holding water or anything and I want to repaint it, so as long as it's not completely beat to hell or one big giant hunk of rusted mess it would be fine. Want to create something like the above.

Suggestions? Food service companies...Acadiana bottling? Anyone know if they get rid of stuff like that?

Thanks.

There's a dude in a small city in Southern Middle Tennessee that sets up in an O'Reilly's parking lot with a trailer full of steel and plastic barrels for $5 and up.

Best I got for ya.

They're only about $25 new.

That's fine too...where do you go to buy a new steel drum locally, though? I have no clue. I see them on line for $100+ and then the shipping cost. Don't want to spend that for some Halloween nonsense.

Appreciate all the ideas...!

Craigslist had them the last time I checked. I'm particularly lazy tonight, or I'd go check for you.

What the hell. 'Stros are losing. May as well look it up for you. Maybe you can call these guys. They're selling plastic 55 gallon drums for $15. Maybe they can point you towards someone with steel ones available.

Steel barrels in BR for $20 apiece.

If you have a local Grainger store, they usually sell them...not sure how much, though. You may also want to check any place that sells bulk motor oil...they usually have some.

I would try environmental cleanup services...Ecoserve or ES&H maybe. Have them check for NORM first though, unless you want to grow a second dick.

Just google chemical company or oil service company . They may have a spare drum they'll sell you.
