I'm no expert, but I've heard the value of sports memorabilia has gone down significantly within the past decade or so. I was at a collector shop about a year ago and they were discounting all their sports related items.
There are way too many variables to make an assumption based on a trip to a collector’s shop.
When talking cards, it depends on age, rarity, condition, whether it’s a rookie, etc.
Items like signed mini helmets and jerseys can be a dime a dozen if it’s a guy currently playing.

f you’re on Facebook, join a group page called Grand Slam Box Breaks. Guy who moderates the group is very knowledgeable about cards and their values.
That guy is dipshit, some ole baw from Slidell is apparently going to fight him at the national convention.

Post a picture of them, depending on condition they should be graded. You can sell them on ebay or join one of the groups on FB to line them.

If you’re a baseball fan, just keep them. It’s not like they take up space, and I’d rather have them as a conversation piece forever than a few hundred bucks that’ll be gone in a month.

He asked for baseball card collectors advice. Not what a random person that doesn’t care about cards to tell him what he thinks they would be worth.
And by your logic, you agree? Those cards are worth $50 max? Even in mint condition? You feels that is a valid reply to this topic?

If you don’t instantly know the rookie year of Mays or Aaron then you should not be claiming you have an idea of how much these cards go for. Without knowing the grade of the card, it is impossible to suggest a price.
The Aaron could be worth several hundred dollars depending on grade.
Admit it, you just made up random numbers and have no idea what the market it for these cards.
Just because I don't know if they are rookie cards are not doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about.
There is a very simple way to value something, it's called eBay.
The $200 value I had on Maris was based on that I owned one before.
The $50 value on the other two was a pretty good guess after looking up what they sell for on eBay. I was basing this off his cards not being graded.

People who can accurately estimate 50’s-60’s baseball card value instantly know the rookie years of top HOFs. They can tell you what their rookie card looks like and if they had a card their first year.
And to my point, your guess of $50 max is completely wrong

I have some old cards I will be looking to get rid of, and was wondering what the best ways are to do that these days. Card shops? ebay?
I took all of my cards to a store recently: NBA, MLB, NFL, & Marvel. The guy told me they're pretty much worthless. All of mine were from the mid-80s to early 90s and he said the companies oversaturated the market with cards during that period so they aren't worth much other than a few exceptions. I have about 25 card boxes completely full so that was a bit disheartening. I was just going to put them in a lot on eBay and see if anyone wanted them.

61 Maris is $200 because of 61.
No, Maris was the MVP in 1960, therefore his 1961 Topps card is either the #1 or #2 card in the set (the NL MVP would be the other) so it was an early release card which makes it rarer.
If graded in mint condition it would go for over $2,000

If you ship your card off to be graded, take pics of the cards and write the numbers down.
Some of those companies aren't trustworthy and will return your card with something else

not in perfect condition, but I have no clue what these would be considered. I know the Maris being off centered is a problem

I’ve been contemplating the same thing. Got a shite ton. And prob pretty good ones too

I have an 84' donruss Jody Davis card. Mint af. Will be willing to part with it for the right price. Interesting trades will be cinsidered.

In all honesty... given the condition of those cards I wouldn't bother having them graded.
There's a FB page Vintage Sports Cards & Memorabilia Pre 1985 where you can list them raw and someone will buy them. They definitely don't look like reprints.

You have to get them PSA graded like the above guy recommended.
1958 Topps Willie Mays graded PSA 8 sold for a couple grand a few months ago via an auction. PSA 9s for this card are considered rare, so those can go for a lot more than that. Now, it's highly unlikely you have a card that grades that high, so you probably end up in the $100-200 range (as mentioned). But if you think they are in great condition, let PSA grade them before selling.
edit: posted before i saw pics. They wont grade very high if those are pics of your actual cards

Disagree. Look at the pics he posted. No sense in paying to have those cards graded. I'd say at best the Aaron and Maris might get a 4... the Mays is a 2.
