That’s interesting. You would think that the more expensive places would have better ways of maintaining motivations for their patients, but at the end of the day you’re correct. It comes down to the individual.

There’s on on the Mississippi coast 3 grand for 90 days called the home of grace. It’s Christian based. I went through it. Not sure how much is too expensive.

Yeah it’s a crazy thing, I know a handful of people that got sober in prison, became involved with AA, got out and are still sober years later.

Baton Rouge detox followed by Baton Rouge Substance Abuse Clinic.
All free.
Start with the detox and they'll place the person from there (there are other free rehabs other than the one I mentioned)
Will most likely have to wait for a bed to get into detox...maybe a week or so. Call them.

It doesn’t really matter how it happens I guess. So long as you can maintain it.

It's not. Cost of treatment has basically zero correlation with chance of success. I'm a big fan of teen challenge which is basically free, but the program last about a year. Don't get hung up on the name. Most people in it are between 25-35.

I guess the rehab is called Capital area Recovery now. See below link. 40 beds. It's free. It's on wooddale.

The detox is at 1819 Florida Blvd. Need to go there first. Only 24 beds there though
Here is the info for detox. Call them. Tell them the situation and that the guy has no money or income. Ask for a bed.

I have a cousin that almost went to rehab. That is the extent of my understanding about them.
One year seems like a long time, but that may be what is required for some people.

Ok looks like you've gotten some good info. But if you have any questions and if I can help from afar, shoot me an email.
I've traversed the system in New Orleans and know several options.

Most addicts are just wasting time and money anyway so a year isn't too much. Usually it gives the family a well deserved piece of mind.
