I’m sure it’s a pretty normal occurrence but it’s a fight trying to get our 2 year old girl to eat. She’s not a picky eater, she just doesn’t ever want to eat. I know you can’t really force a 2 year old to eat, but she’ll eat like one or two bites of food and be done.

I’m kind of the same way, I’ve never had a big appetite; so I guess she gets that from me.

We try to be good about limiting distractions when it’s meal time but that’s not working. I know you can’t force em to eat, but I mean dang, she needs to eat!

Don't worry unless she stops growing/starts losing weight.

Train her like you would a dog. You eat when it’s feeding time, otherwise you have to wait until the next feeding time. She gets hungry enough and she’ll start eating

My 18 mo old is a vacuum. I would focus more on providing well rounded healthy meals. That's where we struggle- incorporating vegetables.

Let her starve. Who is in charge? She will eat when hungry, otherwise, let her starve. I bet water is her friend.

Human survival instinct will outweigh being a pain in the arse when it has to

I mean, she’s not a pain in the arse about it. She just doesn’t eat. She eats about two bites and says “I’m done”

She drinks a bottle of regular milk, not formula, after waking up, before her nap, and before bed.

How much is she snacking? I find that limiting snacks helps. Also let her run around outside and work up an appetite!

This is exactly what we did with our now 5 year old and currently are doing it with our 2 year old.

No snacks, no drinks aside from water (milk included because of the calories/protein that fill them up). If they don’t want breakfast - fine. They usually start asking for snacks around lunch time. Do the same thing for dinner, and they have hunger around their two major meals (and occasionally breakfast).

It lasted for like 2-3 months with #1, feels like we’re getting to the back end of #2.

Also random advice, but take away any screens or toys or things that otherwise may distract them at the dinner table.
