frick I love that guy.

He does seem to never be happy, though.

It says he just recently started working out and got his abs at 61. Impressive nonetheless.

He probably felt like his life had no greater purpose; nothing left to live for.

Odd considering he left behind an 11 year old girl.

So.... he was exercising regularly.... the thing people were saying he should do to help with depression....

I’m failing to see your point here.

That's very sad. Goes to show you not all celebrities are happy regardless of the amount of wealth, fame, and respectability that they have. I liked his shows, I liked him, and he had the best job in the world. RIP Anthony Bourdain.

Suicide..I'm not surprised . He seemed to be carrying a lot of emotional baggage.

I guess that goes to show you that it isn't everything. I assume he would have traded that "best job in the world" for the best home life.

According to a few articles I have read about him, he wasn't content with retiring. He also mentioned that his daughter was the only thing essentially keeping him around.

Very sad. As I mentioned earlier, he probably thought his life had no greater purpose?

I also wouldn't be shocked if he were possibly dealt some health news and said frick it. I mean his bucket list has probably been thoroughly checked off, could have wanted to go out on his own terms

Neal Peart actually loathes fans that worship them.

To me that is just douchey......I get the adulation bothers him but he is one of the biggest bands in the world and is acknowledged to arguably the most talented drummer in the world......get over it.

That's why you will never hear that Bill Murray has committed suicide.

He has embraced his fame in the healthiest of ways; by actually enjoying his interactions with fans...not hiding from them nor letting them go to his head.

My only Bourdain in the flesh experience a couple months back. Dude was staying at the Edgewater in Seattle. He was sitting at the bar on his computer. I’m not really a famous person guy so didn’t really care however two dudes walked up and asked to take a picture. The exchange...

Dudes: “do you mind taking a picture with us?”
Bourdain: “are you fricking serious right now?”
Dudes: “well yeah”
Bourdain: “really frickin serious?”
Dudes: “uhhh yeah?”
Bourdain: “frick no” and turns back around

Not a nice guy but I get it.

Exactly, Peart is also the lyricist of the band and his lyrics and musicianship speak to millions......I get that he just wants to be a regular guy sometimes but he's not a regular guy. He shouldn't let it get him in an unhealthy way.

Nah, I get it. I'd probably feel the way too if I were famous. I've never understood people who fawn over celebs.

I’m not a celebrity, but in the time it for that exchange to happen a picture could’ve been taken. But I guess it does get old to have that request

I can promise you not all members in the band feel the same. I medically treated one of them and he was great. Guy was an absolute riot, appreciative and was your quintessential rock star and loved fans.

Side note: I was discharging him and he told his buddy to call some girls and have them meet at the house because they are going to party.
