And yet I bet you don’t drive slower by choice.

Other than the fact that not buckling up is not a guarantee that a person will die, it is just like suicide.

Just read about a couple in a recent news report. Wife had a one car crash and died. No seatbelt.

How often have you read that someone wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and survived a crash?

It happens. For some reason the news doesn’t tell you about it, Wonder why?

I feel extremely vulnerable if I don’t have a seat buckle on and I grew up when it wasn’t against the law to not wear them. I’ve always worn them.

Back in the 80s not many folks wore them. But also the speed limit was 55 and much less traffic. The drivers then were much more careful, as compared to a Dodge charger going 100 while hugging your bumper in present time

You paranoid arse people always think you're going to crash into a lake.
Reality is, your little safety hammer is going to fly across the car and end up seven feet away from you under the rear passenger seat. I'd like to see y'all Luke Skywalker that shite into your hand.

bc someone didnt buckle up one time? do you realize people die from wearing their seatbelt? id give this story a little break rather than calling it "suicide by stupidity" Deaths from those who wore seatbelts and those who didnt were almost equal, given the fact that 1 out of 10 (10%) do not wear their seatbelt

You don’t even realize you made his point for him.

I never wore seatbelts, until I moved to Atlanta.

It quickly turned into a habit.

Not true, unless you live in an area that has experienced a lot of growth. Look up any newscast from the 70s or 80s, bumper to bumper traffic in metro areas was normal.

Drivers may have had some level of responsibility, and they sure as shite weren't scrolling IG like the dance moms in their $90k SUVs rolling down I-10.

Because the news generally only reports on fatalities?

They don;t report on all the people that survived a crash buckled up either do they?

Surviving a crash is not news... Dying cause you were ignorant and stupid is...
