nd the 75-85 connector was shut down this morning after a chemical spill from an overturned truck. We literally can'y catch a break.

I made the wrong decision and got on 285N from 20W (on the east side for those not familiar with ATL) to go cover a practice off 400N. This was the week after the 85 collapse. It took me 3 hours in 5mph bumper to bumper traffic to get to 400. I usually take 20 into the city and I work off Piedmont. Now with 20 being in hazardous conditions, I may just up and move back into the city.

They should let I-10 go ahead and collapse.

Traffic would probably improve.

Jeez...

I remember a few years back (within the last 5 years) the eastbound lane of Brightside did that between River Road and the entrance to Riverbend subdivision. It had been blisteringly hot for days and two sections heaved up at the expansion joint. Happened about 100 feet in front of me and sounded like a cannon going off. stuck up at least 3 feet in the air at a 40 degree angle on each side.

Years? They expect to have all I-20 lanes open by tomorrow and the I-85 bridge rebuilt end of May / mid-June.

I'm sorry but in Louisiana this would not cause a road closure.....unfortunately.

I-20 will have lanes open this afternoon. All lanes should be open tomorrow. Late date for I-85 construction is June 15th. Up to $3MM bonus for contractors if they finish he May 15th.

Like another poster I also tried slip from 85 to 400 on the Buford connector because the traffic maps looks so good on 400. Don't do it! It's a trap! That 2-3 miles from the split to 400N eats up an hour alone. They also kick you while you're down by putting up fencing so you can't even see the carnage while you're sitting there.

They may make it. When I came by going East an hour and a half ago the asphalt was already dug up and they looked to be back filling. I'm not going to bank on being on time tomorrow though.

This freeway has been a parking lot since the I-85 bridge collapse, sometimes all day long.
