So after reading up on this latest threat, it’s freaky.
The internet theory is that the bomber is taking the DC sniper approach and hitting random targets along the trail system as a way of throwing off the authorities from his real target. He also seems to be hitting in a clockwise direction.

Insane to think that with the amount of security cameras these days not only on homes but also on street poles, nothing has surfaced yet. Unless the FBI just isn't releasing info.

From the little I've followed, the first two were package bombs that exploded upon moving them. This latest one is rumored to be a tripwire bomb attached to a For Sale sign that was placed in the yard of a home that wasn't actually for sale.

Where was the bomb then? Built into the stake? Seems like it would stick out?

That’s why the internet believes the trails are part of this. Someone can park far away and use the trails, drop off a bomb, disappear back on the trail and never be caught.
