Child transported to hospital after early Sunday morning shooting on Fairfields Avenue

quote:

BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Police responded to a reported juvenile involved shooting early Sunday morning on the 5600 block of Fairfields Avenue.

Authorities say the child was taken to a local hospital with reported non-life-threatening injuries.

Details are still limited but the investigation remains ongoing.

Thank God this child didn’t die, but juvenile victims of this violent city trending up in the BRoken is fast becoming a trend rather than an anomaly.

Will SWB and Paul issue a public statement or does the child have to actually die for it to register on their radar?

For all we know that "juvenile" could have been brandishing a gun. Anyone under 18 is considered a juvenile.

They already issued like 80 statements but they’re too stupid to understand that they don’t work.

You’re right, and their ages are getting younger and younger too. It’s a calloused disconnect to atrocious irresponsibility of both parent(s)/guardian(s) and our city leadership who are simply MIA. I don’t think any of them really care one bit, or else you’d see some serious action, and you don’t, so that just feeds the perception that none of this bothers any of them. It’s fast become everyone’s new normal.

Fairfields Avenue

Just another dangerous area of BR, north of Florida Boulevard. Tons of people are shot to death on Fairfields Avenue.

And that just underscores the problem. We all know where the problem originates, and you know damn well the city knows too, so why isn’t something being done to end the problem in those known problem areas?

Unless of course, the real problem is with the City leadership. Gasp….

I am leery of the use of the word "child" by modern media without a corresponding age given.

Another victim of white supremacy. This is why critical race theory is SO important.

Updated news article for wbrz has reported it was a targeted hit on someone inside the house, either a drive-by or someone walked up and shot up the house. This resulted in the juvenile being hit by gunfire.

Good cops don’t forget these names.

Why haven’t you heard them more often you may be asking yourself? Because their deaths couldn’t be exploited so many settle for the likes of Alton Sterling or George Floyd.
